Kalankarayan is from Tirunelveli district in Tamil Nadu and was a participant in the STP Operator Training Program. At the time of enrolling in the program, he was working in a laboratory and was keen to strengthen his technical skills and explore opportunities in the environmental and utilities sector.

The STP Operator Training Program offered Kalankarayan a comprehensive learning experience that combined classroom-based theoretical sessions with practical exposure through site visits. During the training, he gained a clear understanding of sewage treatment processes, operational systems, safety protocols, and the technical responsibilities involved in managing an STP. The site visits allowed him to observe functioning treatment plants closely and connect theoretical knowledge with real-world application.

While continuing his role in the laboratory, Kalankarayan was able to apply the skills he gained through the program at his workplace. The training enabled him to support STP operations at his worksite, contributing to system management and day-to-day operational tasks. This experience helped him build confidence and reinforced his interest in the field.

The exposure and hands-on learning through the program played a significant role in preparing Kalankarayan for greater responsibility. He now feels close to becoming a trained STP operator capable of independently managing operations.

Kalankarayan shares that the training has been instrumental in strengthening his skills and supporting his journey toward a more stable and sustainable livelihood.
